The Australian Army Cadets ran a stall as well as the important behind the scenes traffic management, and general setting up.

Tweed Regional Museum Opening
The day started with an earlier event – the Official opening of the newly renovated Tweed Regional Museum.
Friday 29 th August 2014. Friday Fun Night in the Park.
The return of the Friday night entertainments was appreciated by a brave crowd that ventured out on a cold evening at Knox park. Featured was the battle of the bands and a Show and Shine of vintage and hot rod cars along with show rides for the kids and plenty of food stalls.

Judging and awarding of pennants was done and the awards were:

This is the amount raised by our Queen candidates in the Charity Queen Quest for 2014. Funds are distributed to local charities that the entrants have chosen to support

Tuesday 26 th August 2014 – Rotary Art Prize.
Teen and Queen entrants visited the Rotary Art show where they were presented.

The entrants had fun showing the clothes from various clothing stores as they paraded down the catwalk.

Sunday 3 rd August 2014 – Know Your Valley Tour – Tropical Fruit World.
Today we were the guests at Tropical Fruit World at Duranbah. The entrants enjoyed many of the activities there including fruit tasting, cracking Macadamia nuts (and eating), a boat ride, feeding ducks and emus, patting horses and donkeys and riding on the miniature train.

Sunday 20 th July 2014 – Know Your Valley Tour – Tourist Centre, Art Gallery, Pt. Danger Marine Rescue.
Queen and Teen Queen entrants visited Budd Park and teh Tourist Centre to find out a bit about the wealth of the Tweed Valley. They then travelled via Gosel’s Bus service to the Art Gallery and examined some of the cultural heritage of the Tweed. After a small moring tea a visit to the Point Danger Marine Rescue where they learnt of the valuable service provided by volunteer rescue services.

|After a fact filled day it was back on Gosel’s bus for the return trip to Murwillumbah.
Friday 18 th July – Junior entrant Disco at CWA Hall 6-8.30 pm.
Princess and Prince entrants had an exciting night of eating, dancing, eating, and games and more eating at the Junior Festival Disco Dance. It was Dance Dance Dance to the macarena, chicken dance, gangnam style, the hokey pokey, conga line and many others. A huge display of foods kept the energy levels high.
Wednesday 16 th July – Tour of Condong Sugar Mill
Queens and Teen Queens visited the Condong Sugar Mill and after a short video presentation showing milling operations from the past toured the mill and learnt about the operations of the cane industry on the Tweed.
Sunday 29 th June Group Outing Barefoot Bowls at Condong Bowls Club.
Queens, Teen Queens, Senior and Junior Princesses and Princes participated in barefoot bowls, and a sausage and patty sizzle. For dessert they had a fantastic mudcake provided by Troy and the staff of Wollumbin Street Bakery.
Saturday 21 st June 2014 – Second Queens Outing – Heritage Lodge.
The Queens and chaperones visited Heritage Lodge and chatted with the residents and after introductions helped in serving morning tea.
Saturday 7th June 2014 – Cooly Rocks On Parade (formerly Wintersun).
The Royal party along with Banana Jim and Sugar Sue accompanied the Banana Festival float in the Cooly Rocks on Parade at Coolangatta.

Sunday 1 st June 2014 – Outing 1
Murwillumbah Museum and Chillingham Bush Tucker Gardens.
Queens and Teen Queens travelled to Murwillumbah Museum to see the new sections and works in progress. They found anad posed with an early trophy for the Banana Case Packing Championship and listened to some of the history of Murwillumbah and the Tweed. Later outside they also inspected the Steam engine on display.

Saturday 31 st May. Casino Beef Week.
Each year the Banana festival float and current royal party travels down to Casino to take part in the Casino Beef Week parade.

Wednesday 21 st May 2014 – Sashing Night
Queens and Teen Queens received their sashes and raffle books at a Sash night function at the Murwillumbah Services Club in front of an assembled crowd of sponsors, parents charity groups and friends. Banana Jim also put in an appearance and posed with some of the entrants.Queen

Sunday 18 th May 2014. Orientation Day.
Queens and Teen Queens met at the Murwillumbah Services Club for an information day. Topics covered included dressing for the occasion, makeup, preparing speeches and speaking in general. The itinerary and changes were discussed .
The entrants received instructions on preparing and making speeches.
